Mizzou's St. Louis recruiting problem

07:19 AM ET 08.19 | At this point, Missouri could have more starters from Billings and Fargo than St. Louis. Missouri has a handful of key reserves from the area and one kicking game specialist, walk-on long snapper Jake Hurrell from Francis Howell North. Otherwise, Mizzou doesn't have any projected starters from St. Louis, which would be a first in Gary Pinkel's 13 seasons coaching the team. ... [Does] Mizzou's lack of St. Louis star power mean anything? If Mizzou improves from last year's 5-7 debut season in the Southeastern Conference, does it matter where players came from as long as they're winning? Maybe not, except perhaps for recruiting purposes. Pinkel inherited a program with a tenuous relationship with some St. Louis high schools but has spent years restoring Mizzou's image in the area.
