Patterson sitting on QB decision

07:20 AM ET 08.19 | LSU looms -- as does a quarterback decision. [Gary Patterson] said Sunday that he won't reveal his starter until the offense takes the field for the first time against LSU on Aug. 31 at AT&T Stadium. "We won't tell LSU who that guy is going to be until we play," Patterson said Sunday. "You won't know until he runs out on the field in the first huddle on game day." ... Keeping LSU guessing is the primary reason Patterson is playing it close to the vest. "Especially in a first ballgame," he said. "If there's differences in styles, then it hurts your football team if you're going to go out and tell people, even if you know. You want those guys to prepare for both, because it's a lot different preparing for Casey Pachall than it is for Trevone Boykin."

Don't be giving our secrets away now.

O-line is so decimated, the QB may be running for his life. Better play Boykin.

August 19, 2013  10:22 AM ET

That's better than if Charlie Weis was sitting on a decision....

Actually, I believe they are in better shape than most people think.

Not for or against the coach...taking a wait and see attitude. Wasn't a fan of his at Wisky, but will always be a Razorback fan, so trying to balance out the belief.

As for my stmt, I do not think we're better off than most believe. I am a realist. 4-week stretch of TAMU, USC Jr, at Florida, and at Alabama....too much for any team to overcome, esp one with a new QB, new RB, and new WR's...not to mention lack of talent on the defensive side of the ball thanks to the philosphy of the previous coach.

Gonna be a long year in Pigge Land.....

No matter the QB, the objective is the same: Get to him early, wrap him up, and make him turf butter.
