07:23 AM ET 08.19 | Soon, the Blues will begin trickling back to St. Louis, ready to start the march toward a new season, but goaltender Jaroslav Halak has been in town since May, preparing to help settle the team's goaltending tandem with Brian Elliott. When asked to define the situation, [Ken Hitchcock] replied: "It was a tandem, but Jaro still played more than Brian (before Halak's injuries). We were still going 55-45 (percentage of starts in favor of Halak) last year ... that was the feeling going into the season. And then when both guys struggled and Jaro got hurt and Jake Allen came in." ... "(But) Halak hasn't lost his starting job due to his play. He lost his starting job due to injury, so there's a difference. If Brian comes in and takes the job, that's one thing."

I would think Philly could help out with this "problem", but would do they have that STL would want? How about 2 first round picks and Giroux?

Exactly. They don't have a rug big enough at the Wells Fargo Arena to sweep it under.

I still think this guy isn't done , if his injuries hold up. He was one of the coolest under pressure goalies until he got hurt. If Elliot had started all of the games that one season, I don't think he would have set that record at .94%.....just IMO.

I think it works good as a tandem, however they need to stop talking and jinxing it by always putting up comparisons to two of the NHL's top five goalies of all time. Just sayin, as no one wants to always feel like their filling shoes....especially ones from the late 60's.
