07:21 AM ET 08.21 | Given the opportunity to slip the question, David Ash, when asked about Johnny Manziel, answered honestly. When asked if he was glad he didn't have the same off-the-field issues the Texas A&M quarterback is facing, Ash said, "It's by the grace of God that I haven't taken that path." The quarterbacks both attended the Manning Passing Academy as counselors but Manziel was asked to leave the camp after missing practices and meetings. ... "I don't know Johnny Manziel personally, but I do know that college football players are regular people, and they have their problems, just like everybody else," Ash said. "And Johnny Manziel, he seems like a nice guy. There's a lot of pressure, a lot of things that can go wrong in your life. I just wish him the best. He's a great football player."

I wonder what his opinion of him would be if Manziel was at UT?

His opinion would be...

"I plan on practicing harder and, hopefully, will be ready to take JM's place if called on"
