07:27 AM ET 08.21 | What Nazem Kadri is worth may at this point be a significant difference of opinion between the player and his team. "The closer it comes to training camp, it becomes more and more of a distraction," said Kadri, after a morning workout at the MasterCard Centre. "That said, I'm being more than reasonable. Right now, it's their decision to make." ... The Leafs have salary cap space of $5.9 million -- a number that can rise depending on which of their extra players ultimately get sent to the minors -- to re-sign Kadri and defenceman Cody Franson. Kadri, who had a breakout season of 44 points in 48 games, would like a substantial raise. "I know I'm being pretty reasonable, taking all that cap into consideration when really, that's not my job," said Kadri.

Sign a reasonable one year deal and prove it wasn't a one year fluke, then you'll have plenty of leverage next summer.

That, or somehow make your way to the Oil without giving those Leafs any compensation! lol

He should try an adjustable cap instead of one that's fitted.

I don't think Canada's ready for Nazem Kadri's Donuts.

Sounds like his head is a little too big for his cap.

August 21, 2013  09:51 AM ET

I'm sure he'd be willing to play for a reasonable figure. Right.

I thought it was customary of players to demand big raises after winning the cup, not going out in the second round after years of missing the playoffs?

Is this really a problem that's to hard to fix? kadri? Fan nation?

This kids comments are nuts for a good year out of more than a few tries. Be a "team" player first and you will get that kind of money for years.
