07:26 AM ET 08.23 | The long road to a return to football for Everett Golson at Notre Dame now has a roadmap. The quarterback, who was expelled from Notre Dame for the fall semester last May, has been working out in Chicago and will travel to San Diego for two months this fall to train with quarterback coach George Whitfield. Whitfield, a former college quarterback, runs a specialized quarterback training academy in San Diego. Golson will return to the Midwest around Thanksgiving and will settle back into Notre Dame for the winter semester around the holidays, coach Brian Kelly said. Golson has been advised he doesn't need to take classes this fall. Since Golson's expulsion, both he and Kelly have been adamant about his intent to return to Notre Dame. He'll have two years of eligibility left.

I may have to buy the young man lunch while he is in town.

How nice it is for a young man with no job to spend a couple of months at camp in San Diego after taking the summer off. Guess they have a scholarship program with free room and board and walking around money. Good for him. And who said there were no free rides?

" Brian Kelly said. Golson has been advised he doesn't need to take classes this fall."

OK, so what's so different about that?

Whitfield charges $200 a day for the college QBs. As reported by Feldman, CBSSports.com Senior College Football Columnist. Then a guy has to room and board somewhere and everyday expenses and transportation.

Maybe the kid got the money selling his autograph to Kelly? Works out nicely I say. Get some training and come back and play two years. The poor academic judgement, well this will help for sure....

As soon as I try to submit a comment, i get kicked into some error message all script mumbo jumbo page and if I try to refresh it duplicates the post, I have to exit and re-enter to read my post, and I can't advance past the current page by hitting the next page button so when I go to the Ice Haus I can't get to today's general BS....any idea what's up?

I think Kelly and ND are on to something here. Recruit a kid who is not really academically qualified or ready for college, red shirt him his first year, play him some so you can see what he needs work on, get him out of school for a semester and send him to a QB camp worked by professionals then play him two more years now he is ready.

Smart.
