I had to look it up - thought it could be the twitter account of Manti's new IDGF. RAGBRAI is an acronym for Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa.

Thanks, but now that bags the question: Why would anyone want to ride SLOWLY across Iowa?

RAGBRAI is the greatest bicycle touring event on the planet. Nothing else comes close. It's a bucket list item for touring bike riders. Your smack is flat, wusses.

Why would Iowa (or Iowa State, for that matter) challenge athletes to participate as a team? For team building, character development, strength and stamina, and because it's a gas! It's a freakin' party on wheels for 15 to 30 thousand on any given day! Get the colors out there, Hawkeyes! Cyclones! Whip up some home fervor in-state!

Holy shiznall, an Iowa Hawkeyes thread - I must opine! Let me first ask why all the negativity? Hawks have a solid team, a good coach and the best fan base in the country. For those not in the know, RAGBRAI is a traveling party essentially; hundreds of riders stopping overnight, at various cities along the route - wherever they stop for the night, it's party time for the riders and townies, plus the cities reap great financial reward, so everyone wins! GO HAWKS!!! MSU sucks the big one!!! BOO sparty, HOORAY HAWKEYES!!!

LOL...I know. My good friend, Master Chief in Navy, is from Iowa and has told me about the "race".

Have a good time.
