12:34 PM ET 08.24 | Former UFC light heavyweight Vinny Magalhaes has stumbled since a six-fight winning streak led him to a matchup with top 10 ranked Phil Davis at UFC 159. Unfortunately for Magalhaes, he suffered a unanimous decision loss and followed that up with a brutal 14 second knockout loss to Anthony Perosh. After his knockout loss, Magalhaes said that he would retire if he was released by the UFC. He has been released since, but decided against calling it a career. Those next moves that Magalhaes speaks of include a move up to heavyweight to take on mixed martial arts veteran Jeff Monson at a November event in Hawaii. Like Magalhaes, Monson is riding a two-fight losing streak and looking to get back on the right path.
