07:08 AM ET 08.26 | This wound isn't self-inflicted, but it isn't helping the Jets start with a drama-free regular season slate in 2013. After hemming and hawing for weeks over the competition that will determine their starting quarterback for Week 1 against the Bucs, the Jets have to find out if Mark Sanchez's injured right shoulder will even give them a choice. An X-ray Saturday night revealed no fractures, according to a source. Sanchez has a sore right shoulder, though the severity is unknown. The team declared Sanchez "day-to-day" Sunday, announcing that he will miss the last preseason game against the Eagles on Thursday night. The Jets are still "still figuring out" how seriously Sanchez is injured, according to a source.

Ryan is going to take the fall, but 100% this is the fault of that macaroon GM.

The GM's job description isn't to tell the coach who he is supposed to put on the field, his job is to grade him after he puts those players to use.

Woody Johnson doesn't seem like a good man, so I guess this is just his karma.

"Oh, it's definitely a torn rotator cuff. Look here."

"Yeah, no doubt about it. What should we do, Doctor?"

"Oh, let's wait until at least Wednesday to tell them. Maybe Rex will have a coronary and give us some more business."

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Great press conference by Rex after the game.

It's not rocket science... Don't put your "Sanchize" in late in the fourth quarter of a pre-season game.... Duh.

I agree. The dysfunction runs from the top and then down through every management level right through to the players. Since this includes the owner, I don't expect improvement any time soon.

"Yes, Doctor, I have."

"Well, you've got it again."

Hamlet had Rex figured out:

"Though this be madness, yet there is method in 't."

Rex can't bench Sanchez, not with that tattoo. So, he sacrificed him. As I said in one of yesterday's Jets threads, losing Sanchez may be the thing that saves Rex's job.

With a name like Woody Johnson, we should expect a circus.

Wow, still can't believe Ryan put his starting QB in a preseason game with backups. If Woody cared about anything other than making money he should have fired him after the game. Now that other owners have seen Ryan's ego and arrogance on display, hard to imagine him getting another HC gig in the NFL.

So who gets cut first Sanchez or Sexy Rexy?

True, but now that he has been a HC and the ego has been let out of the box, who dares hire him to be a DC? Good as he was at it, do you want to deal with the possibility everyday of what he might say to the press?

If they want to know what is wrong with Sanchez shouldn't they be consulting a psychiatrist ?

I'm pretty sure we all realize that. But he was the "best" the Jets have.
