Serious concern for Kolb's career

07:09 AM ET 08.26 | The Buffalo Bills did what they could Sunday, signing free-agent Matt Leinart and trading for fourth-stringer Thaddeus Lewis of the Detroit Lions. The moves came in the wake of Saturday's head injury to veteran Kevin Kolb and reflected a serious concern on the part of the team over Kolb's long-term health. Kolb suffered from concussion-like symptoms as a result of taking a knee to the back of the head, and it's at least the third concussion of his career. With first-round draftee EJ Manuel still recovering from minor knee surgery, the Kolb injury left undrafted rookie Jeff Tuel as the only healthy quarterback on the roster. Tuel is expected to start Thursday's exhibition finale against Detroit and could start the season opener against New England.

Jeff George can throw the ball all the way to Rochester, just sayin....

At this point, the team's medical staff should tell him to hang 'em up. Anything short of that would be malpractice. He's reached the point where he could already be a basket case by 50.

Didn't everyone already see his career was greatly limited for whatever reason? Apparently the Eagles, Cardinals and Bills didn't.

Jeff Tuel...

DD is quaking in his shoes.

This guy got away with murder with weird high dollar contracts for nothing.

Now he'll join the ranks of the NFL concussion law-suiters to get away with even more.

An undrafted, 3rd string rookie QB playing for the Buffalo Bills making the first start of his carrer and it's against the Patriots. I wonder what the line will be on that game.

August 26, 2013  08:01 AM ET

Oh, and Kolb should retire. He shouldn't mess around with concussions.

Our defensive backs will be checking off their "Interceptions" numbers on their incentive-based contracts by the end of week 1. That is, if our pass rush doesn't check off "Sacks" first.

A lot of promising QBs have been ruined by playing behind weak and porous offensive lines. Kolb is just the latest and he won't be the last.

Yes, but at one time Andy Reid was touting him as the 'future' of the franchise. OOPS!!!

August 26, 2013  08:23 AM ET

I saw Tuel's come back victory against Washington at last Fall's Apple Cup. Impressive. And as he was undrafted I am guessing he is hungry.

Serious concern for Kolb's career

As if anyone in Buffalo shouldn't be seriously concerned about his career.

Jack Benny can throw the ball in Rochester's general direction. Rochester just makes him look good.
