Flyers keeping Giroux from Canada's camp?

07:28 AM ET 08.26 | In the eyes of some, Claude Giroux isn't doing himself any favors by way of his conspicuous absence. TSN's Bob McKenzie emphasizes that Hockey Canada isn't throwing [Giroux] "under the bus" publicly or privately. Even so, he noted in Sunday's Insider Trading segment that many prominent members are "extremely disappointed" that the 25-year-old opted to heal his injured hand in Philadelphia instead of joining this week's Olympic orientation camp. McKenzie believes that Giroux ranks among eight forwards who are favorites -- if not locks -- to make the prestigious team, which is part of the reason the management and coaching staffs are reportedly displeased. To be fair to Giroux, McKenzie notes that it's possible that the Philadelphia Flyers urged him to stay and rehab in town.

The guys INJURED..im pretty sure every other GM wouldn't his player in any kind of orientation camp...and you know he's going to the Oly's too.

LOL - They're not even going to be on the ice. Is his hand too injured for him to sit in a chair?

You have no idea the energy it takes to put that middle finger in the air for hours at a time.

You're right there Slappy. With my shy, reserved, quiet demeanour I'd never do anything like that.

Is it just me or is Giroux's likeability plummeting?

LOL. You don't need training camp. You're in playoff form already!

The Flyers were likely terrified he would join the Boys on the golf course Tuesday

And of course who doesn't want a strange doctor looking at your hand saying 'your fine, get back out there'

I'm not clicking unless that's a Linda Lovelace vid.

It's obviously a serious injury, and anyone that thinks that he's going t'be 100 % this season (especially without using steroids) is just plain silly. Flyers are probably just trying to keep some cover on what it might be.

No........................but it is p***y............

No story. The guy is injured and couldn't play anyway. So what if he isn't there for the campfire sing-a-longs of Sudbury Saturday Night.

Giroux will be on the club in Sochi because he is in the top-12 or so forwards in the league. Crazy hands and very good speed. Loads of talent and explosiveness, creativity.

OK I looked, 'cause I'm getting it pretty good this morning. Chaco got excited until he figured out it was the wrong kind of bird.
