07:18 AM ET 08.27 | Speculation on free agent center Hamed Haddadi's future in New York isn't yet final. [Haddadi], who worked out for the Knicks on Aug. 16, might not be done with the team yet. A source close to the player says it is "still possible" that Haddadi signs with New York. The Knicks technically have only one roster spot remaining, but C.J. Leslie and Jeremy Tyler both inked partially guaranteed contracts, which means they are not locks to make the official team. Several sources have told ESPNNewYork.com in the past two weeks that the Knicks are focused on adding a big man before training camp starts in early October. The Knicks could really use another rebounder and shot-blocker, especially against bigger-sized teams like the Nets and Pacers, who both upgraded their frontcourt this offseason.

Forget the Knicks.

Blah! Only good if you need him for extra fouls...

I like how you work so hard to say "this team" and not "our team" or "us" these days :-)
Must be killing you LOL

For a veteran team with expectations of winning now, there's no need to take a flyer on a rookie. So get Hadadi. I'd feel more comfortable with a veteran checking Hibbert and Garnet than these youngins..

Garnett will not be a concern.

What the Knicks need is Smush Parker.

I'm still a Knicks guy too and always will be. As much as I would love to turn my back on them, I know I never will. But at the same time I am realistic. The Knicks won't win another title until they have a another owner.

Agreed......but even more important than Haddadi being a veteran, is the fact that he's also a bonifide big bodied center.

Both the kids (Tyler and Leslie) mentioned in this article roll in at about 6'9" and 210 LBs.

Haddadi rolls in at about 7'2" and 260.

Even if Haddadi is only good for 6 fouls a game.....they could be the type of six fouls that would bring wear and tear on opposing bigs. Plus, Haddadi is a better than average rebounder and low block defender.

If the Knicks are looking to add a 'piece that could help them now, Haddadi is the guy to put on the rosters. Send Tyler and Leslie to the D-League. You can always bring them up if you need a skinny PF to carry 'Melo's bags.....
