Team Canada's weak link

07:35 AM ET 08.27 | There was a time, of course, when goaltending was hardly an issue in international competition for Canada. There is no tactful way to ask why Canadian goaltending, at this particular juncture in history, is so mediocre. But it is. Marty Brodeur is the past, and of those we thought were the future, Marc-Andre Fleury has fallen off the edge of the Earth, Cam Ward is stuck on a loss machine in Carolina and [Carey Price] has been a human roller-coaster. ... If the cold-eyed sizer-uppers in the peanut gallery are correct, it could be a big issue for Canada in Sochi, not quite six months from now. "Obviously the last couple of years have been hard on Roberto but I think our goaltending is as good as anybody else's," said defenceman Dan Boyle.

Or as delusional as a Leafs fan?

I think Mr. Boyle is a great politician

As long as he does not try to pass BOYLECARE

That would be M. Giroux

That's true. If he was that good he would have said their goaltending was superior to everybody else.

Lance Armstrong could be a spokesman.

I'm glad to see they are keeping MAF away from the Olympics. I think that was his undoing last time.

That sounds painful.

Canada's goaltending will be fine. In front of Weber, Pietrangelo, Staal, Boumeester, Keith, Seabrook, Letang or Boyle, it shouldn't be as hard as say, Russia's goaltending with their lack of a defence corps.

Hi Hank, I'm thinkin' even that's prob'ly outa reach - no matter whom they send. Both the Rus-skis, an' the IIHocks are groina doo-doo all that they possibly can to create an all-euro, medal-sweep.

Just like they want it. Everybody's gonna underestimate the Canadians. I think they'll be OK.

Hank is gonna back stop Schveden to Gold

I'm thinking Datsyuk successfully setting up all the guys he didn't successfully set up in V Town in 2010.
