04:53 PM ET 08.27 | The San Antonio Spurs are going to be unhappy to learn that point guard Tony Parker has injured his knee during an exhibition with the French international team. According to reports, Parker will need an MRI on the injured knee, but it appears to be nothing major. Parker is no stranger to injuries and playing through them, but if there is the slightest damage, then the Spurs will be urging Parker to shut it down and sit out the EuroBasket tournament that he was preparing for.

Spurs run is over. A healthy Parker or not, Spurs cannot make the same run as last year. OKC with Russel back would be hard to get by.

They need to tell him to shut it down now even if the MRI was okay.

Those Who Forget The Past Are Doomed To Repeat It, Bro.

The good news is the results of the mri show no problems, so TP says he'll be ready for the
EuroBasket championships. Still, it's a lot of playing time.

Every off-season the international players return to their respective countries and play for their countries national team, and the problem always seems to conclude with an injury. Pau Gasol with a foot, Battum with a ankle, Dirk with a elbow; sooner or later one of these guys are going to end their career playing for their national team. Yao Ming use to play year round basketball that cost him a career in the NBA. Hedo Turkolu always return for the start of training camp fatigued and burned out; even Divac and Sobonis would return slowed by the excessive strain and stress it took to continue playing throughout the year without a period of rest. When will the international countries stop applying soo much pressure on their countrymen to perform just for the sake of bragging rights? When will the players have enough courage to not play for their country just to satisfy a few? If I'm making millions of dollars in the United States and thousands of dollars in my country, I'm taking a rest from playing country ball and resting to make the millions in the U. S.
