07:22 AM ET 08.28 | So much for a long and drawn-out recruitment period. The nation's top-ranked football recruit for the class of 2014 will put an unusually early end to the drama surrounding his recruitment this week. Monroe, Louisiana offensive tackle Cameron Robinson, who is rated the nation's best offensive tackle prospect by all major recruiting services and the No. 1 overall prospect in the country by 247Sports, revealed on his Twitter account that he will announce his college decision this Friday. "@crobinson_68: I'll be announcing what college I'll attend this Friday Aug 30th." Robinson, a 6-foot-5, 330-pound tackle at West Monroe High School, will choose between Alabama and LSU. The five-star prospect has visited both schools numerous times this summer.

I have heard that story. Alabama didn't recruit him or offer him, beyond one phone call togauge interest.

I don't know who they might be talking about. But I highly doubt anyone would pay half a million for any recruit.
