07:30 AM ET 08.29 | Thomas Vanek is back in Buffalo -- and with his return come the questions. Vanek spent all summer working out in Minneapolis and tried not to think too much about the situation here, "The summer was good. My workouts went well and besides that, I really didn't think about anything too much. If something was going to happen, I'm sure I was going to get a phone call, but the day I left here, I planned on coming back and here I am." Vanek added, "Is a rebuild what I wanted, no, but I'm open to it." ... There have been many rumors swirling this summer that Vanek asked to be traded. He said, "No, I never asked to be traded so when people do mention it, I'm surprised. Did I think I was going to get traded, no because I never once went in there and said I don't want to be here."

He just doesn't "think about things too much." If he thought it through it might have been different.

Maybe he'll want to play for the Wings.

He'll be in MN after this season....

He would probably like that, but there won't be any cap space after you sign Heater to his well-earned 8 year extension.

Wild over $20m under cap after this season = no Heater........

Not thinking to much is definitely a prerequisite here. Not thinking at all would qualify you as a mod.

Kessel Kills Boston almost every game he plays against us. I wish he was still here, but Tukka is here and he/she has been pretty good.
