01:18 PM ET 08.30 | The New England Patriots will need to determine whether or not they will be placing star tight end Rob Gronkowski on the physically-unable to perform list by Saturday's deadline when teams are forced to cut down to a 53-man roster. According to reports, New England is "leaning toward" activating Gronkowski from the PUP list so that he is able to rejoin the team before Week Six of the season. While Gronk could be activated, there is still a belief that he will miss most of September. However, he could be back by Week 4 of the season, which is two weeks earlier than he would have been eligible to return on the PUP list.

Me thinks Gronk would like a couple extra weeks to imitate WWE moves in Vegas before going back to work.

If he's doing that then he doesn't need to be on the PUP list, but I don't think he's doing that....at least I hope not.

Activating but not playing isn't against the rules so why not....

Not to be a doomsayer, but how much you wanna bet he gets injured again not long after his return?
