09:45 AM ET 08.31 | The Peter Chiarelli era with the Bruins has been a success, that is undeniable. But there are areas he can improve and, yesterday at a TD Garden press conference officially announcing his contract extension that will keep him in the organization though the 2017-18 season, the general manager spelled out one area he needs to get better. In a salary-cap world, you need good, young (aka inexpensive) players on the roster and contributing while developing in your system, so the team can continue to be successful as the natural player turnover occurs. And the B's need more of this. Thanks to a reduction in the salary cap this year, the Bruins have little choice but give ice time to young players, more so than in the previous years. But the lofty expectations remain the same.

So that's why he booted Seguin and brought in Iggy?

Is it just me or is Petey starting to look like George Costanza?

Maybe what the headline was trying to say it is that Chiarelli likes looking at young boys. ;-)

Nope. Too busy with 27 NFL threads. No time for NHL.

What could be more important than multiple NY Jets threads?

To be fair, there's really eff all happening.

Well there's always the embarrassment called the Team Canada orientation camp where they had to play ball hockey! I'd love to weigh in on that. I'm sure a few players would too.

You're tampering with the market, Canuck. You're about to create a severe 'I Can't Believe It's Not Butter' shortage with that picture! I mean .... imagine ... all the Leafs fans rushing to the grocery stores to buy their pound or three!

Only a bandwagon Kings fan here, but what say we make it a hockey day anyway?

Center-ice floaters make excellent targets.

Petey C will always be 'the Monseigneur'.
