02:59 PM ET 09.02 | Buffalo Bills running back C.J. Spiller spent some time away from the team after learning of his grandfather's wild shooting spree that resulted in two deaths and two injuries before he turned the gun on himself and fired another fatal bullet. After the time with his family, Spiller has returned to New York to rejoin his teammates and he is looking forward to getting back to work with his strong support system.

Better not be. I have him and Trent Richardson as my RB's in my FF League.

Beyond horrific. Hope the best for him.

If he's back for the paycheck this will not go well. Hopefully he's got somebody he's working through this with. Tragic.

Does he lose a boatload of money if he's not on the field this Sunday? I think I'd take a little more time off before returning to a high stress job.

Or the Bills sent over a memo "Dear Patriots just to let you know that if you tackle CJ this week his Gandma's coming to visit you, and she's the mean one in the family"

Spiller is going to play, but out of respect for his personal situation, he's asked the offensive coordinator not to utilize pistol or shotgun formations in Week 1.
