07:18 AM ET 09.03 | Here's hoping, for new Reds outfielder Billy Hamilton's sake, mom knows best. After hitting just .243/.300/.331 over the first half of the season in his first year at Triple-A, Hamilton was able to have a short visit with his mother, who gave him a pep talk. "First half, I put a lot of pressure on myself, I wasn't playing my game, I was going out there trying to think too much, I was playing too hard," Hamilton said. ... "After the first half, I got home, I talked to my mom, she said, 'Just be yourself, relax a little bit and play your game.' After that, it started going good." In the 40 games after the All-Star break, Hamilton hit .283/.324/.367 for the Bats, finishing his first year in Triple-A with a .256/.308/.343 line and 75 stolen bases.

Why does he owe the call up to her for? Did she sleep with the GM?

Hire her as the batting coach.

I think he could use another year in AAA ball. He's going to struggle a lot next year if the Reds let Choo walk.
