Ware's rehab taking longer than expected

07:22 AM ET 09.03 | Coming out of the long Labor Day weekend, University of Louisville men's basketball coach Rick Pitino had to recalibrate everyone's hopes. [Pitino] updated guard Kevin Ware's rehabilitation progress and other tidbits of his upcoming team on Monday during a news conference to discuss his Hall of Fame induction. Ware suffered a broken left tibia during the Cardinals Elite Eight win over Duke in the NCAA Tournament in March. During an interview in June, he expressed hope that he would be back, fully healthy, when practice starts in October. Pitino said the process would take longer and he anticipated Ware just beginning rehab on the court in mid-October. "We're going to take our time. I'm not saying we're going to redshirt him, but we'll take our time because it's a very serious injury," Pitino said.
