Stoops paints a bleak picture

07:24 AM ET 09.03 | Well, this didn't take long -- less than a week. The honeymoon is over. The shine is off. The man who sat at the podium Monday at the University of Kentucky's weekly football press conference was no longer New Coach Mark Stoops. He looked and talked like a man waist-deep in a mess, which is what the Wildcats became over the last two seasons under previous coach Joker Phillips. Stoops was raw and realistic and painted a bleaker picture than at any point in those nine months before he had to play a game under unflattering stadium lights, back when fans were full of hope and blissfully ignorant of the ugly truth: This is going to take a while. "The first thing is we all have to accept the reality of it. Accept that and embrace it," Stoops said.

Yeah, we already knew this, just was wishing for a one year turn around, it will take several and we just have to wait and see little by little.

Good luck, O-6. Wildkitties got some work to do. Stoops sees it, now I hope the fanbase does and can appreciate what it's gonna take to get to be a strong program.

Out-coached. BP is 1-0 against the SEC, looking to go 2-0 next week at Tenn.

Enjoy having him for a season, Western Kentucky. Somebody will decide to forgive Petrino and sell their souls to Saban in an effort to win some football games next year.

Winning > character.....

oops...except for the rusty cows. They've been raking in $$$$$$$$$ the past couple of years without winning.

Hmmmm, maybe the objective of the game has changed. Damn the scoreboard, the team that generates the most cash wins.
