07:27 AM ET 09.03 | With informal skates already taking place across North America and camps set to open soon, so, too, will begin the debates about who will be the NHL's most productive players in 2013-14. Within NHL.com's consensus top 200 overall rankings, 47 centers made the cut, with 17 in the top 50 and 28 among the top 100 players. Nearly 25 percent of the players in our overall rankings were centers. ... At the top of the ranks, you'll notice plenty of regulars, with Sidney Crosby holding down the No. 1 spot ahead of Steven Stamkos. While our consensus ranks saw Evgeni Malkin come in as the third-ranked center, I see things shaking out differently in 2013-14. I believe Jonathan Toews and John Tavares will outperform the dynamic Penguins center.

So the NHL's "You Can Play" campaign was actually for Malkin, Toews and Tavares?

Well played...

Interesting that Geno's boys initials are JT...could Joe Thornton be next on his hit list?

Haa! I think if Malkin is on his game, the other two have some work to do. Both haven't won a scoring title, and he has a conn Smythe and hart and art Ross and a Cup ring......just sayin.

I love the other two JT's that Golden mentioned......jumbo? Not as much...
