07:30 AM ET 09.04 | Alabama wide receiver Kenny Bell is back -- even if he never officially left. [Bell] received a "personal day" Tuesday and is expected to return to the team Wednesday, Alabama coach Nick Saban said. "Kenny's a fifth-year senior, he's done a great job in this program, he's played a lot of good football for us, he's made a lot of big plays, he's been a good teammate to a lot of guys on the team. He's certainly somebody I have a tremendous amount of respect for as a competitor," Saban said. "Sometimes we have personal things that we need to get ironed out. He had a day today to do that so there's really nothing else to talk about when it comes to that." ... Bell sent out a slew of Tweets early Tuesday afternoon indicating that his Alabama football career was over.

....its a tough business...the devil has to make cuts in order to spend the recruiting budget....but he should have converted him to the d line so he has a shot to tackle johnny football, unlike those bales of hay he currently has out there....

I wonder if he'll get paid for taking a personal day.

I think it is treated as a floating holiday. But, now he'll have to work on Columbus Day.

My guess is that he was not as high on the depth chart as he expected and got frustrated. Possibly after time to think it over, he will reconsider.

He should graduate in about 4-5 more years..... it will be an SEC record....

OK Negatiger

LF to Bama... Then the meltdown.

Noil and Willis are trolling recruiting services.
