10:58 AM ET 09.04 | New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez "is expected to miss the first two weeks of the regular season and may be out longer". It is not too surprising considering the reports that he hasn't even thrown a football yet. Sanchez seems to be in denial though. Doctors are worried that he could do further damage to his shoulder and miss more time. For now the Jets aren't putting Sanchez on injured reserve. That means that Jets fans will get to see rookie quarterback Geno Smith lead the offense in the opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If Sanchez is out two weeks, Smith would also lead the team against the New England Patriots.

"Turn out the light, the party's over. They say that all good things must end. Let's call it a night, the party's over and tomorrow starts the same old thing again." Say goodnight, Mark.

He will be out just long enough for Geno to hang himself on the field.

I think Mark will enjoy sitting back and watching Geno Smith get hammered.

Yeah, I gotta agree. Geno may become a very humble guy by week 2.

Oh, I think the Jets will have another QB to fill the breach. Sanchez has several forks in him.

Geno may not talk much smack after a few weeks.
