07:06 AM ET 09.05 | Brandon Weeden may be middle aged by NFL standards, but he's also just about to enter his second NFL season. He's working under the guidance of a new coaching staff and more comfortable with the vertical, downfield passing game offensive coordinator Norv Turner wants to feature than the West Coast system employed by former Browns coach Pat Shurmur. Rob Chudzinski, Shurmur's successor, said Weeden is "right on track" in terms of his development. "I think he's come a long way and really improving as a player," Chudzinski said. "He's grabbed a hold of the offense. I'm really looking forward to seeing him out there on Sunday." Weeden believes the optimism is justified. ... [Said Weeden:] "You kind of get better each time you get reps, and I'm excited. I'm excited about starting year two."

If he can lead them to 8 wins, he'll be Cleveland's #1 citizen. I know that's not saying much, but...

Last season opener he got lost in the flag on the field during the pre-game, right ?

I bet Tebow had the same thoughts, and every practice squad QB, and Harvin, and the rest of the has-beens or soon to be has-beens.

Rob Chudzinski, Shurmur's successor, said Weeden is "right on track" in terms of his development. .... He's right on track to be ........ about 40 years old before he gets it all together.

I know where talking about Cleveland ....but if you really think about it if The Brownies can put something together on Offense they could not to bad this year, they have a pretty good defense already.........but it still the Browns.

Weeden has actually looked pretty good so far, especially connecting to his new TE. Granted, it's only pre-season, but hope springs eternal.
