07:10 AM ET 09.05 | If Brett Favre can play in Minnesota, certainly a longtime Vikings player such as defensive end Jared Allen could play in Detroit. The Minnesota Vikings perennial All-Pro is in the final year of his contract and said today he's open to any possibility after this season, including joining the Lions. "That's not up to me," he said on a conference call with Detroit reporters. "I honestly believe God will put me where he wants me to be. But Detroit is getting better. "I'll tell you what, it would be hard to go to any team in the NFC North and having to come back and play the Vikings after being here so long. But I never say never to anything. I always leave the doors open to wherever my path takes me." Allen has owned the Lions with 11?? sacks over his five-year career with Minnesota.

If I were them, I'd go off on a wild story that absolutely has nothing to do with the question.

Word... That's a quick way for them to become a house-hold name across the nation... Hell a Reality Show would shortly follow.

His history says he will follow the money. Nothing wrong with that, just don't make it sound like divine intervention by a Deity that takes you to the next place.

Sounds like he knows a little something about his future with the Vikings.

Honestly they should deal him at the deadline.. Everson Griffen has become a good DE and Robison is still decent on the other side, get value while you can..

This guy cracks me up and is one of the reasons I no longer hate the Vikes. His motor is always running and he is very upbeat. A guy you want on your team for leadership alone.

He will be 32 before practices start next year. He knows he has one more big payday left.

Vikings just need to go ahead and try to make a trade and get some good draft picks for him, maybe Oakland for there first rd. pick.......then draft Clowney.

My wife has the hots for Jared Allen. Is there any chance they might trade him to someplace in Siberia?

I cant say I care much for someone talking about playing for another team next year four days before the season starts. If I were the coach I might be a little offended.

Well, it's true, assuming you worship money.
