07:14 AM ET 09.05 | Good news, Cavs fans. In an exclusive interview with The Plain Dealer, his first since the press conference announcing his signing on July 19, [Andrew Bynum] said he's on schedule to return this season and there have been no setbacks since he started working out at the Cleveland Clinic Courts in late July. "I moved here a week after the press conference, I've been here ever since -- day in and day out just working,'' he said, referring to the team's practice facility. "I'm there, focused. I'm doing everything I can do to get back. That's what all this is all about for me right now. I just want to play." After being sent from the Los Angeles Lakers to Philadelphia as part of the Dwight Howard trade before last season, Bynum missed the entire year with a variety of knee problems.

This guy is a very good player when healthy and focus. What happened in Philly was not his fault but he need to take better care of himself.

you contradicted yourself...

As a Sixers fan, I would stay away from this guy because I think he is damaged goods. From what I have been reading through all the beat writers, the Sixers knew he had bad knees and rolled the dice the same way the Cavs are this year. The problem is both of his knees are almost shot, and big men rarely recover from something like this. I still think Bynum will play in the NBA, but you will have to keep your finger crossed he lasts each season the same way Bill Walton went through the latter years of his career. And for any Cleveland fans, make sure he doesn't go bowling!

He's on schedule all right for this season.... To sit next to Kyrie Irving on the bench in injured reserve status....

Oh yes I did...!!

He's on schedule until he sees a bowling alley! Cleveland needs to hide all of their bowling alleys.

Or something like that!

I'm sure he's on schedule... he'll play 20-30 games, then take his annual vacation, per his usual schedule.

Get his jersey retired, and everything.....right :-) ?

Bynum had too many chances. He is talented and very good but his heart is not to be a great player. He just want to ca$h in and have fun with the money.

Gugy, this is true, but IMO, Bynum has just as much heart and desire to be a NBA champ as Dwight Howard!!!

I don't know, that's a pretty big temptation here in Cleveland.
