07:30 AM ET 09.05 | At one point, time was on the side of the Blues and Alex Pietrangelo. Well, that time is running out. The Blues report for training camp next Wednesday, and without a new deal, it's expected that Pietrangelo will be a holdout. The club, general manager Doug Armstrong said Wednesday, has already made contingency plans if the defenseman is a no-show. "I've talked to the coaches about the 'what ifs' on a few different situations." ... NHL clubs often bring free agents into camp on professional tryouts, or "PTOs," and Armstrong acknowledged that the Blues have been in contact with those players. He wouldn't disclose the names of potential invitees, but the list from which to choose includes Ron Hainsey, Ryan Whitney, Hal Gill, Tom Gilbert, Ryan O'Byrne, Jim Vandermeer and Radek Martinek.

QUOTE(#1):

Is there a limit on how many future first round picks you can trade? Like can you trade the 2023 first round pick right now?

Anyway, if you can, I would expect that year's, along with a few others, to be St Louis bound rather soon...

Gotta have hope...

This isn't good.......I really thought they'd have a deal done by now.

I don't think there's a GM out there with a 10 yr plan. If there is, they'll be gone well before that.

Very rare. But yeah a few are out there.

A few people here still think Alex Anthopoulos and John Gibbons are a crack baseball management team, too.

Head over to TSN. They're as common as empties at a Burkie family picnic.

The Jays pitching STINKS...cant lay it on management.

It wasn't only pitching that got the Jays elimanted from the playoffs in April. Most things about that team stink.
