07:02 AM ET 09.06 | For his part, Eagles wide receiver Riley Cooper downplayed the incident involving teammate cornerback Cary Williams. [Cooper and Williams] got into a heated scuffle at Thursday's practice, and a player close to the incident indicated that it was directly related to a video that surfaced five weeks ago of Cooper using a racial slur at a June concert. According to the player, who did not want to be named, Williams used the same slur Thursday that Cooper used in the video. The player quoted Williams as saying, "I'm not a n- you [mess] with." ... Williams did not comment after practice. When approached, he responded, "Don't even come by here. I'm not talking at all." The Eagles had no comment.

Nice to see they have internal issues still. At least they will keep the Cowboys out of last place. HA!!

To be fair, Cary Williams would get in an argument with you if you were chewing the wrong color gum. It doesn't take much.

Funny how a few years ago you never saw the "f" word in movies but the "n" word was OK. Now the tables have turned and "f" is in almost every movie and everyone except Tarentino is afraid to even type the "n" word. Wonder if they'll switch back or if they'll find a new one.

Old enough to remember George Carlin's 7 words you can never say on TV. Oddly enough "n" was ok back then.

I was at a Jay-Z show not long ago. I'm a big fan. He used the "word that cannot be uttered by certain folks" over a hundred times. Kanye and a host of others do the same thing. This seems to be perfectly acceptable.

Yet, "certain folks" cannot utter the word for fear of opening the Seventh Seal of Hell. Ergo, certain folks of a certain color are not allowed to do something certain folks of a certain color are allowed to do. THIS is the essence of racism.

I remember him too. Smart, socially relevant, humor that also made you think. I miss his wit.

When I was a kid I worked the night shift, a Detroit station would be playing him on my way home, made the ride short laughing all the way.
