Mets looking for a power bat

07:11 AM ET 09.06 | This season, the Mets aren't digging the long ball. Of the three players who lead the Mets in home runs this season, exactly none currently occupy a locker in the Mets clubhouse. Two of them, Marlon Byrd (21) and John Buck (16), don a different uniform after their trade to the Pirates. The other, David Wright (15), remains in Florida where he's trying to return from a hamstring injury before season's end. ... That leaves Lucas Duda -- with a grand total of 12 home runs -- at the top of a list that underscores the glaring power outage the Mets must address for next season. "You look at all the teams that are winning," Mets manager Terry Collins said. "They're dangerous, they can hit home runs, and that's where the game is at."

Good pitching along with good defense with timely hitting Terry will get you closer than ever to making the playoffs without a major home run hitter.

How about Weiner he has a power bat he thinks that he swings around. Sorry wrong type of bat, more like a small stick.

Good luck with that

the mets should browsing around in the international league,
or try to sign prospects from Dominican republic, and prospects from Cuba,
why? those type of players tend to become tough power hitters :-) :-)

Mets need way more than just big bats, it's basically going to take a miracle to turn things around. they need a manager that knows how to motivate and teach, they need a ton of relief pitching, Reyes back at SS, Ike gone, Aardsma gone, and Satin gone.

the mets traded most of their power bats in Byrd and Buck, and now they are looking for power. Make up your mind. with Wright out of lineup doesn't help

Mets roster and lineups do nut strike fear to a lot of teams. the mets have to string hits together to score runs. The mets for them to win consistently must do it with pitching and defense. the mets will have to improve in off season or will struggle next season as well.
