Clowney's path clear to Murray

07:15 AM ET 09.06 | When it comes to NFL prospects on Georgia's, the list probably begins with Aaron Murray, but it may not include one of the guys chiefly responsible for keeping him safe: Kenarious Gates. Gates started at left tackle and also played some right guard in [Week 1]. To put it mildly, he struggled. He gave up at least 2 sacks in the game and a few pressures and after that I stopped watching. ... In my opinion, Gates is not an NFL prospect. He lacks the athleticism required to make blocks at the NFL level. Off of this game I wouldn't even sign him as an undrafted free agent. Georgia plays South Carolina this week and Jadeveon Clowney has to be praying that Gates is still the starter at left tackle! If I were Murray I might call in sick for the game.

Wow, not often you see an article bashing a player like this. Odd.

Don't most assign two to Clowney?

Really unprofessional of the National Football Post to publish stuff like this:

"... I wouldn't even sign him as an undrafted free agent. Georgia plays South Carolina this week and Jadeveon Clowney has to be praying that Gates is still the starter at left tackle! If I were Murray I might call in sick for the game..."

I hope Gates has a great game.

And ... this article covers 4 Georgia players who are NFL prospects - Murray, Lynch, Gates and Burnette. The author inults Gates and FN seizes the opportunity for more Clowney worship. Meanwhile ESPN is paying chuches in Athens to promote Clowney for Game Day. smh

Pretty rude but he did stink it up out there last week. Murray did too.

Well I guess we'll get to see how they perform when their backs are against the wall.

The AJC hacks are already writing their "CMR on the Hotseat" articles now, getting'em ready for next week.

If Erin and Helen have the same performance as last weekend they might still be hacks but they'll be right this time
