07:20 AM ET 09.06 | Brian Burke is headed back to the other side of the continent, though he's not headed to the Flames for a tear-down. General manager Jay Feaster will report to Burke while Ken King remains president and CEO of the Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation. ... Burke will be an adviser to Feaster. "I'm not the general manager of the Calgary Flames," he declared. "Jay Feaster is. He is going to be in charge, but with my guidance. "I think I add a value. I've been able to fix just about every team I've worked for, sometimes quicker than others." Burke's contract with the Flames doesn't have a set term, but is instead an open-ended work agreement. "There's a long runway here for Brian," King said. "He can do this job for 10 years, maybe longer than that."

I want to slap you so bloody bad right now, Mr. Burke. Collectively, for the whole of Southern Ontario.

That was my favourite quote too Danny. LOL

Hopefully he actually is serious and stays in the background letting somebody with an actual brain run things properly.

key word being 'guidance'

Selective memory or what? How can he even say that without what's left of his soul exploding...

Good luck Calgary. Hopefully he actually is serious and stays in the background letting somebody with an actual brain run things properly. I'd hate for you to have to be as bad as the Leafs were for as long...

Where's the fun in that?

I want Burkie quotes everyday telling us how great the Flames are. I want him bringing back Olli Jokinen and Dion Phaneuf. I want to see how well his Rainbow support goes over in Cowtown.

Background Burkie? Never!

That's what he said. But, what was left unsaid is just as important: "Every team that I 'fixed' stayed "fixed' for many years."

Burkie guiding Feaster. Why does the phrase: "The blind leading the blind." keep coming into my head?

How long till we can get a pic of BB sitting in an empty section of the Saddle dome all by his lonesome?

Because I remember the Whalers becoming a powerhouse before moving to Carolina.Or the Canucks making it past the first round more than once in his tenure.

Well he did draft Les Soeurs and Heimlich von Kesler. Not sure about Bertuzzi but I think so.

So even I'd admit he made them better.....

And he only left Hartford to go schmooze with the Powers That Be for a spell.

And his Excuse Me Cup in Anaheim was a lot like George Seiffert Barry Switzer winning a SB but he did get it.

And your Leafs? They certainly seemed better to me this past year so he must have had "something" to do with that.

I think the Flames got themselves a blue chipper...
