03:15 PM ET 09.06 | There has been a lot of back and forth on whether Dallas Cowboys defensive end Anthony Spencer will play in this weekend's season opener against the New York Giants. Now it seems like we have a definitive answer. The recent setback suffered by Spencer will cause him to miss the first game of the year against the New York Giants. Not surprising. Most experts have Dallas out of it by November.

I still think they'll be a wildcard

Any chance that the team doc said Sencer as ok to play but the Dallas GM/Secret Coach Jerry overruled him?

It's actually rather typical, Louise. Jesse has to work hard for that money. She only makes that if she turns three phone sex tricks in an hour. You have much catching up to do, young one.

And I can't even give it away for free. Boy, women have all the luck!

Maybe JJ can spare some Tiger Baum....

Who's surprised? Another Jones money bomb. Year after year they couldn't get Spencer to run his motor, then he runs it for his contract year last year, and the team and local media swooned over him like he's Mean Joe Greene... and Jones paid him. So now he's in Jonesland, where all Jones's tank jobs go with their money... Who ever thought we'd see a different Spencer after he got paid, anyway?

He didn't get paid. He got franchised.

For all intents and purposes it's another contract year for Spencer. And if he bombs it's no big loss; they can simply let him walk.
