Soldier Field game for Blackhawks?

07:56 AM ET 02.13 | A Chicago Park District panel recommends that a new contract to manage Soldier Field go to SMG, which made a pitch of hosting an outdoor Blackhawks hockey game at the lakefront stadium. Mitchell said the district would like the hockey plan to include a college contest and a way to allow people to use the rink for pleasure skating in a week-long event.

Totally agree. I think this would not only be huge for the two teams, the city of Chicago, but for the NHL. If there's a game here and in the Bronx, it is two games in two of the biggest citites in America.

I'm a fan as long as its one game a year.Maybe we should put a ferris wheel at center ice too. Lets do things for the fans that appreciate the game the way its played not more fluff crap. Maybe wear rubber noses while playing? Pam Anderson bobble head night etc...

The MTL-EDM game back a few years ago was great..., think it was -30 at game time! I would love to see Chicago play at Soldier Field but, only if its the 'only game' played outside that season. I think every Canadian team should do this..., not so much the States as there are at least 12 teams who never see snow!

I think any team from the Rust Belt north should be allowed to do a outdoor game. But I agree, they should limit 1 game per season.
