Notre Dame wary of Big House distractions

08:42 AM ET 09.07 | Zack Martin has started at Notre Dame since 2010. He's lined up at offensive tackle for road games at USC, Oklahoma and Stanford, among others. Visiting Michigan Stadium for the 2011 night game topped them all. "There's no other place I've played at since I've been here that compares to two years [ago] when we were up there," the senior captain said earlier this week. "Just the atmosphere. The fans. All that together was something to see." Notre Dame expects more of the same under the lights Saturday in what could be the final meeting between the Irish and Wolverines in the Big House for years to come. "We know it's going to be loud," Notre Dame quarterback Tommy Rees said.

This game has always been make or break for either team the rest of the season.

The Texas Longhorns will replace Big Blue for this all important early annual test.

I think this is a great idea, Notre Dame is nation wide. I really hope to see a SEC team become a regular on the schedule, Florida or Georgia perhaps. Playing Alabama every season would be awesome.

HA! Notre Dame will be so loaded with talent and depth in the coming seasons you wont be able to identify the first team from the third team.

The Horns can expect an automatic loss every year just like the Sooner are now.

Doubt Bama would play every year but games against them, Ga, Florida, SCe, and LUS
would be awesome.

I have been to a half dozen UM games, and 103K roaring fans can be distracting

It must be Saturday and grammar school is out or this young kid wouldn't be posting.
Saturday threads are often full of pre-adolescent commentary like this.

I'm with you Van; have to play tough opponents to be the best.

If ND is as awful as you michigan fans claim, then why are all of you so butthurt that they cancelled the series with you? You should be happy.

So that's why ND is dropping Michigan!

Its most likely all about realignment.

Notre Dame wants no part of the Big-10 and when the poop hits the fan (soon) the Irish will be forced to join a conference.

ACC offers more for ND then the Big-10 will.

Agree about the ACC over the B1G, but people have been saying Notre Dame will soon be full time in a conference for years. I don't see it coming in my lifetime.

Well Van has to head to the pub and meet up with me Irish brethren, I leave with just a few one liners that can be inserted as the game battles on.

'How bout that Irish D, HUH! did i tell ya or what"!

"God Damn it Tommy"!!!!

Go George the third GO!!!!

"Davaris Daniels for SIX again!!

GOD DAMN IT TOMMY WHY WHY WHY!!! AURHGHGHGHGHGH!!!!!

"Wow Michigan looks like crap".

"Wow Amir Carlisle is awesome, look at him go go GO!!! Thank you Trojans for the gift that keeps on giving".

"Better luck next time Little Blue,, now kneel before your holy conqueror and kiss our Mother Notre Dame's ring".

While I go to my measly UTEP-NM game, I'll be keeping track of the ND-Mich score, because while I don't know who will win at the big house tonight, some people are going to eat a lot of crow on here tomorrow.
