09:26 AM ET 09.07 | Hours after Mexico head coach Jose Manuel de la Torre refused to resign following his team's 2-1 loss to Honduras -- El Tri's second-ever capitulation in a World Cup qualifier and the first time since 2001 -- the Mexican Soocer Federation (FMF) announced that he had been fired after two and a half years in the job. A short statement on the FMF website exxplained that the decision was that of federation president Justino Compean, and that de la Torre's highly-experienced assistant, Luis Fernando Tena, would fill in.
