Record-setting A.J. Pierzynski likely to re-sign with Rangers

07:25 AM ET 09.08 | A.J. Pierzynski just crossed the 100-games-caught threshold for a 13th consecutive season. Only Johnny Bench, Bill Dickey and Brad Ausmus ever had done that, and next year Pierzynski can become the first to do it 14 straight years. -- Pierzynski seems likely to re-sign with the Rangers but is among the catching possibilities the Phillies are pondering as they're undecided about hanging on to Carlos Ruiz. The Cubs' Dioner Navarro could wind up in the mix somewhere as Pierzynski, Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Brian McCann head toward free agency.

Yeah. There are several to choose from worth a laugh with Pierzynski. Barrett probably has a dartboard with Pierzynski's face on it in his trailer.

Pierzynski two days in a row? What are the odds?

They really need to keep him. The minors shelf is pretty barren at that position.

Oh please let the Angels sign him. Im tired of Chris letting everybody but grandma steal a base on us. DAVID ORTIZ STOLE A BASE ON HIM FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. Im not usually one to say bring in a guy from the Rangers after Josh Hamilton (though C.J Wilson is turning out well as the year ends) but if you can upgrade at catcher with a little less at the plate, do it.
Paying 500M to two guys to be at the plate. I think it'll be good (though I question if 500M wouldn't better be spent on getting a platinum plate installed instead)

stay with Texas, at least they are winning games, and it is not like Philadelphia is going anywhere for the next few years...

Only Phillip Rivers and King Joffrey have a more punchable face than AJ Pierzynski.

Don't the Phillies want to stop spending money on older players?
