09:08 AM ET 09.08 | Sharrif Floyd is 6 feet 3, 305 pounds. But it's not only his size that will make the Vikings' top draft pick the successor to six-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kevin Williams. It's Floyd's temperament. And, he said, "I definitely have to work at it." Floyd, whom the Vikings made the No. 23 overall pick in April's draft out of Florida and paid a signing bonus of $4.3 million, makes his NFL debut Sunday against the Lions in Detroit. He is surprisingly calm about it. "No butterflies at all, no surprises, no anything at all -- I'm just playing ball," he said. Floyd, by design, is unemotional. He's the anti-Jared Allen. "It didn't come easy for me," he said of his mental discipline. "I have to control my emotions.

Emotions lead right to emotional eating apparently.

Can't wait to see this guy after a full season under his belt.

Shariff is undersized and not fit to start in todays NFL but he was that way going into Florida and in his second season showed how dominant he can be, he's ambitious and ruthless on the field (in the good way Mr. Suh). He can rest while out there like most D-linemen but the thing that makes him better is that he can still provide great leverage inside while plugging holes. This keeps him fresh late in games and as he gets more fit the amount he rests becomes less and less.
