Celtics considered Hornacek before Doc

07:23 AM ET 09.09 | Few are given the kind of opportunity facing Ryan McDonough in Phoenix, where the former Celtics executive could overhaul nearly the entire length of the Suns bench. McDonough's first assignment was to hire a coach, and he chose former Sun Jeff Hornacek, a first-time NBA head coach who was a rising assistant in Utah. McDonough did not know Hornacek before he was hired, making the interview process intriguing. "I heard great things about him," said McDonough, who said Ainge considered Hornacek for the Celtics' opening in 2004 before hiring Doc Rivers. ... "In the NBA, he was an overlooked guy and ended up being an All-Star. Jeff has achieved and maybe overachieved at every level of basketball. We knew he was going to be a hot name."

I was just joking, Guam...lolI don't really know who, if anyone, is telling the truth about that situation. But, Doc was the reason Paul re-up'd. So, I'm happy he's here. But to answer your question, no.Doc, JR. Smith, and any media outlet that keeps this story going , along with Howard leaving the Lakers, should just...SHUTTY!

Yup, Doc just needs to let it go and move on. He had great times in Boston so he shouldn't throw that away w/ those back and forth w/ Ainge. I still love ya Man!
