07:28 AM ET 09.09 | And a freshman shall lead them? Michigan State true freshman quarterback Damion Terry was working with the skill position players on Sunday and will compete for playing time against Youngstown State in this week of practice. Spartans coach Mark Dantonio made it clear on his Sunday night teleconference to discuss film review that he's still looking for answers, and the starting quarterback position will not be given to anyone -- it will be earned. "The bottom line is making plays and having confidence in yourself, and stepping up to the plate and seizing the moment," Dantonio said. "We normally don't practice on a Sunday, but we have our skill guys out there right now. As a matter of fact, I came in to take this call."

Dantonio needs to be careful that he doesn't pull a RichRod on excessive practice time.

Agreed. I say throw the kid in and see if he floats.

I pray your kidding? I saw a better performance out of a pop warner team. My stats might be off but I believe MSU def. has 4 td this year, off. has 2 I believe.

DS, you switched jobs?

Good one. Actually was called in for jury duty today. A convicted felon on his way for sentencing, overpowered the deputy and escaped. The courthouse was emptied, we stood outside for over two hours, brought us back in, made us wait another hour or more, and finally decided that there would be no trials today. And with all that, I was still more productive than the Spartan offense on Saturday.

Dantonio needs to man up and end this circus. All he is doing is causing rifts within the team. Pick the one you think has the best chance of winning ball games and go with him. Stop yanking them out and putting them back in. To my mind, Tyler O'Conner should get the start. He's young and will make mistakes, but he can move the offense. It wasn't his fault the kicker missed the field goal from the seventeen yard line.

Fire the offensive coordinated. He is offensive.

Donald of the desert.

What better time than to test the kid? Youngstown State is a good enough FCS team to create some challenges, but not so good that it's likely to derail Terry's future.
