07:29 AM ET 09.09 | Only a week old, the college football season in Austin is getting long in a hurry. In advance of a full injury update on Monday, the Texas Longhorns announced on Sunday afternoon that starting quarterback David Ash has a head injury, leaving his availability questionable for next week's game. Ash left the BYU game in the fourth quarter after taking a shot to the head as he went to the ground following yet another called running play. It was the 16th carry of the night for Ash, who was also sacked three times and hit numerous other times. ... If Ash can't play against Ole Miss, senior Case McCoy will take over the offense, as redshirt freshman Tryone Swoopes has been hampered by a hamstring injury all throughout fall camp that has limited his development.

The big question is about their defense that allowed 550 rushing yards to BYU. Will the change in DC help? Don't think it could hurt at this point.

We're doomed.

OK, gang...who's popping the popcorn this morning?

Texas lays an egg, U$C lost AT HOME to Wash State, $EC teams with a loss are ranked ahead of undefeated conf contenders, and the Domer Homers are on suicide watch.

Ought to be a fun day......

Forgot about the Gaytahs losing, too! More popcorn material. Da U smacking Fla, and the Acc being 2-0 against top-10 SEC schools.

Gotta lead to some smack-talk

I think they're going to have to put him down. It's the humane thing to do.

Will say Provo is a gorgeous place for a stadium.
Glad we finally got the king of gimmick D out, just embarrassing

How fast can a new DC, even though he was prepping for this for the last 2 weeks, get them to play fundamental D?

Without Ash, doomed. He did make some pretty throws against a tough D.

September 9, 2013  09:54 AM ET

Manny Diaz out, Greg Robinson in...QB concerns...porous defense...RRSO a little over a month away...Bevo still rakes in the bucks. It's all good.

September 9, 2013  09:56 AM ET

and while I'm ragging, Swoopes is a true fresh, not redshirt.

Jeez, who wrote this article, Bohls?
