07:10 AM ET 09.11 | Yes, John Axford enjoyed playing in Milwaukee, and he was clearly grateful for the opportunity to pitch in the major leagues. [But] the outgoing reliever admitted Tuesday it was probably time for a change of scenery. "I might have been (the perfect candidate)," said Axford, who was traded by the Brewers to St. Louis on Aug. 30. "It seemed like Milwaukee was coming to an end for me, and it was time to carry on and go somewhere else and start anew once again. Milwaukee gave me a huge opportunity; the Brewers gave me a huge opportunity. And I took advantage of it the best I could, and did a great job the best I could for as long as I could. Then, the last couple of seasons things haven't worked out quite as well. Maybe that's what was needed, a change."

I think maybe it has to do with the Cards going to the playoffs and the Brew Crew going to the golf course.

I don't think the change of scenery is working. His ERA went up instead of down.
