New team motto for Rangers

07:33 AM ET 09.12 | Calling it a quest, Rangers' coach Alain Vigneault has the Stanley Cup on his mind and a motto to fuel it. OK, so as inspirational messages go, the "Clean Slate ... Grab It" motto adopted by [Vigneault] isn't quite, "Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can't Lose." But then, it isn't "If You Don't Block Shots, You Don't Play," either, so that's a start. That's a start for the Blueshirts, who started their first training camp under Vigneault on Wednesday wearing T-shirts bearing the 2013-14 slogan while going through their physicals that preceded Thursday's on-ice testing and the preseason work during which the new coaching staff will install its system and communicate its philosophy. That program actually began at Wednesday night's team meeting during which Vigneault made reference to the Stanley Cup.

I understand a "rallying cry", ("ya' gotta believe" was a good one, and I'm not amets' fan) but why do pro athletes feel the need to have to be "inspired"? Isn't this what they do?
I've always said, if you need a reason to get up for a big game...you're in the wrong line of business

Perhaps it doesn't just translate well from the original French? Maybe "Clean Slate" are fightin' words to a Quebecois?

"Clean Slate ... Grab It"

Sorry... I ain't feeling it.

LOL. Just when you think it can't get any more silly.................well, there's a clean slate and new jokes are written. Perhaps a picture of the Sedins holding hands and gazing into each other's eyes could be the new logo?

no, I mean the group of non fighters that couldn't get out of their own way in WWI, WWII (except the resistance, they were beyond brave) and pretty much all of Southeast Asia and a large part of Africa...you want to play history, we can do that too.

So the group of people who helped you become a country in the first place.

You know, how you guys are so fond of saying things like "if it wasn't for us they'd be speaking German"

Well, if it weren't the French you'd be speaking the Queen's English.
