Tannehill: Dolphins won't placate Wallace

07:13 AM ET 09.12 | Mike Wallace didn't have many kind words to say after his first game of the season in Miami -- a one-catch performance that netted 15 yards -- and his frustration boiled over despite the team winning 23-10 over the Browns in Cleveland. With [Wallace] not pleased about catching only one pass last week, will Ryan Tannehill target him more Sunday? "I'm going to play the quarterback position the way the coaches install the plays," he said today. "We're going to try and get him the ball when he's in the play, but we're not going to force him the ball." But he said Wallace is back to "his same old self, practicing hard, joking around. He's great."

WR's are divas.

I like Tannehill saying this. A spoiled brat like Wallace can put pressure on the QB to try and get him the ball.

Wallace is 'great' until the next game. Frickin' tool!!

September 12, 2013  08:17 AM ET

Now the whole world knows why Pittsburgh let him walk.

T. O . Incarnate???

I was just going to say that. This turd will grow into a bigger turd.

I guess he has no interest in learning how TO became persona non grata with the whole league.

But he said Wallace is back to "his same old self, pouting, complaining about money and his number of touches, and dropping the ball."

Fixed

I'd nail him in the back a few times in practice

I'm sure Tannehill has already mastered that

September 12, 2013  09:03 AM ET

There's just no fixing spoiled brats is there? Wallace got all the talent and no brains to go with it.

September 12, 2013  09:10 AM ET

The coaches should be taking the heat on this. Tannehill shouldn't be put in the middle. You don't have a happy team if Wallace is blaming Tannehill.

Yeah, it's mostly Wallace being Wallace, though. They won the game and he needs to Ess Tee Eff You.

September 12, 2013  10:14 AM ET

Tannehill should consider politics after his playing days. His response was masterfully crafted.

September 12, 2013  10:16 AM ET

Was it the plays being designed to use him as a decoy or was he just not getting open? The plays i've watched, he was not getting any separation. No way tanehill should have force the ball to him like that.

They need to sit him down an entire half/game, to show the whole team that this behavior will not be acceptible.

September 12, 2013  10:43 AM ET

Too late, ya already did with that contract.

September 12, 2013  11:24 AM ET

One of the big problems with all these sports is the contracts have performance incentives. If the player thinks for one minute another player may cause them to not make the incentive, they have a hissy fit. This ain't about team anymore its about me me me and my money.
If I were Tannahill I would tell him to **** and play ball.

If Calvin Johnson is "Megatron," Mike Wallace is "Mini-Skirt."

Nice!!

Tough to feel any empathy toward someone making so much money to help his team win???

Tannehill is responsible to find and throw to open receiver. If Wallace is covered or double covered he will probably not get thrown to. If Wallace wants thrown to he will have to work harder to shake coverage quick enough to be open for pass. before he has to throw to someone else to avoid the sack.
