07:15 AM ET 09.12 | Roger Goodell has personal ties to Washington, D.C., so this topic has been with him for some time, and he's now addressing it again. [Goodell] confronted the issue of the Redskins name on Wednesday. But his answer -- this time delivered during a lengthy interview with LaVar Arrington and Chad Dukes on 106.7 The Fan -- took a more nuanced tone. ... "[I] know the team name is part of their history and tradition, and that's something that's important to the Redskins fans. And I think what we have to do though is we have to listen. If one person's offended, we have to listen. And ultimately, it is Dan's decision. But it is something that I want all of us to go out and make sure we're listening to our fans, listening to people who have a different view, and making sure that we continue to do what's right."

The impact of changing this name would be tremendous. It would kill the franchise along with the spirit of the NFL. No one wants to see this happen. This whole conversation is no longer worth addressing.

Snyder isn't going to change it.

HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!!!

AGREED Eli. Wasn't it not long ago people were up in arms over the Atlanta Braves fans doing the 'tomohawk chop'? Rabble rousing people with too much time on their hands causing a stir just to get in the news.

Not to mention it would never end. Now other teams would have to change their team names

Exactly... Braves... Indians... Cowboys (see what I did there)...49'ers.. Bucaneers... Vikings....Raiders..... They may have a group of pussypoots that turn against the name too.

It's the sensitive politically correct culture we live in today.

Isn't funny, as a group, everyone wants to be PC. When you talk to people individually, everyone disagrees with it. So where does it really come from?

everyone is so afraid to voice an opinion in a group, so they act like sheep and follow the leader.

Not that the Redskins are bullying, but it's like the old saying... "Cowards have strength in numbers."

In that scene, I'd volunteer to pound sand.
