Brady reaches breaking point

07:11 AM ET 09.13 | For the most part, Tom Brady has said all the right things about his new receiving corps and done his best to guide new players along as they learn the offense. But everyone has their limits, and Brady appeared to reach his during Thursday's 13-10 win over the New York Jets when either Aaron Dobson or Julian Edelman ran the wrong route on a third down play in the end zone that caused the Patriots to settle for a field goal. After the play, Brady could be seen on the sidelines ripping into his receivers. "I think everybody was (ticked off), you know, when you don't execute the way that you're capable," Brady said. "We just have to keep fighting." His frustration was palpable, and it likely wasn't just over that particular play. It was a culmination of missed opportunities beginning last week.

Maybe he could replace Phil Simms...

As long as they are better at the end of the season. They will all get on the same page eventually. Gronk will be back soon too. Not worried.

Another sloppy preseason game

Wonder if Brady misses Wes Welker? And isn't Amendola ALWAYS injured? What were the Pats thinking?

September 13, 2013  07:58 AM ET

Deion Branch and Brandon Lloyd are both available. The Pats should seriously be looking at bringing them back.

That old saying about Brady making any receiver look good? It ain't so.

And no, we're not interested in The-Receiver-Formally-Known-As-Ochocinco, or TO, or Mandy Ross.

They're still getting wins, which buys them time to fix their problems

My favorite part of the game last night was when the Patriots punted, and the Jets had no one back there to receive the ball.... that's quality coaching, right there.

With Amendola out for...whatever (as usual), Branch and/or Lloyd need to be brought in. Like today!!

If this hadn't been a short week, I think they might have brought them in last Monday.

It is not for me to question the Dark Lord, but why is Edelman still running back punts? He's the only real receiver left on the team. That is far to risky.

September 13, 2013  08:14 AM ET

and the Jets are too dumb to take advantage of the Patriots injuries!

It should be questioned, especially with the issues they are having on the receiving end.

What's lost in all this is that the Jets are not the train wreck that everybody thought they would be. The defense is playing very well, the running game is back and the OL is doing a reasonable job of protecting Smith. Geno is still making rookie mistakes, but he should improve as the season progresses. Jets are doing pretty well with the talent they have.

or perhaps the Jets just don't have the skilled players to do so

Having no one back to receive a punt just screams "DUMB!"
