04:42 PM ET 09.13 | The New York Jets lost their second game of the season on Thursday night against the AFC East rival New England Patriots, but they may have lost much more. The team lost arguably their best player, defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson, to an ankle injury. While Wilkerson will need to undergo further testing to determine the full extent of his injury, the team is hoping that he can avoid a high ankle sprain. Jets head coach Rex Ryan discussed Wilkerson's injury after the game and showed some uncertainty around the level of ankle sprain that Wilkerson had suffered.

Not good. Jets can't afford to lose this guy.

Agreed, and no matter how much I dislike (hate) the Jets, I hate to see injuries.

On the bright side, there's three extra days to evaluate.

He's playing real good, hope he recovers quickly, but ankle injuries love to hang around!!!

Seems like if your name is Muhammed you could solve ailments fairly easily.

Thought the jets were 1 & 1 not 0 & 2

Was the injury also caused by Rex sending him in during the final few minites of a meaningless preseason game? Oh wait, maybe he too was not the starter, anyhow.

I am genuinely interested in seeing how much worse things can get for the Jets. It almost isn't funny anymore.

Almost.
