09:53 AM ET 09.14 | Jets coach Rex Ryan is not ruling out a return for quarterback Mark Sanchez, but said he does not share Sanchez's belief that he won the quarterback competition this summer before he injured his right shoulder. "His comments that he clearly thinks he won the competition or whatever, that's his opinion," Ryan said Friday. Sanchez told the NFL Network he was frustrated by the injury because he knew he had beat out Geno Smith for the starting job. "There is no doubt. It was a done deal," Sanchez told the network. Not if you ask Ryan. "I never said he won the competition," Ryan said.

Does it matter now? You blew it bro.

September 14, 2013  10:03 AM ET

I agree with Rex. They hadn't finished the Chinese Checkers portion of the competition.

loser

September 14, 2013  10:15 AM ET

Rex is just trying to save face after his stupid decision to play Sanchez in the preseason game where he got injured.

Don't they tell their locker room who the starting QB is?

This is just bizarre.

Who?

September 14, 2013  10:22 AM ET

If it isn't the pathetic Jets, it's Harbaugh and his litany of whiners. Any real football news? Has somebody been fined for making a QB cry?

September 14, 2013  10:26 AM ET

They do have something in common. One thinks he can coach other thinks he can play QB

September 14, 2013  10:28 AM ET

Rex should add Marky to his twitter account, apparently he did not get the message.

think about it this way-mark didn't beat out geno at that point-so he was NOT the #1 qb- he was competing for the job-had Rex not put mark in, then what? do you not play him in the 4th game?then mark, who isn't a top 20 qb, and BARELY was beating out a raw rook, wouldn't have played in 3 weeksthen rex would've been hammered for that- or if he played in game 4- he would've been hammered for that.bottom line is blame mark for all this ish-had he IMPROVED at all in 4 years and 5 training camps, it would've been a no-brainer... but he didn't so he forced rex and all the couch pundits who cried for him to have more competition to....make it a real competition....and he couldn't outshine a rookie who never took a snap under center.....ever...lol...I mean come on-

agreed it would of been different if sanchez was your franchise QB and clear starter but no sanchez is someone jets fans have hated for years so why do they care that hes hurt anyways

* I mean not to compare him to brady....but who was the elite talent he had around him when he was winning SB's ? troy brown?

Too your point, Thursday, look who Brady had to throw to. It almost made the jets look relevant.

How can 1 person be such a scourge on the planet?

I'd welcome hearing about Wrecks and a freak accident... You know, when a freak has an accident.

I'm not sure if I'm a freak, but I had an accident this morning.

If you know what I mean.
