Time for Champ Bailey to shift to safety?

08:16 AM ET 09.15 | At age 35, and slowed by a foot injury that sidelined him for the opener and kept him out of practice last week, there are increasing suggestions in some quarters that it might be time for Denver cornerback Champ Bailey to move inside to safety for the last season or two of his career. But those suggestions aren't coming from the Broncos' locker room and certainly not from Bailey himself, who, despite a tough postseason in 2012, remains confident he can still hang with receivers on the outside. "It's still about more than just speed," Bailey said. "And I can still run and haven't lost any technique. I'm a cornerback."

So where are the suggestions coming from? Hopefully from higher up than reporters hanging on to bar stools.

Yeah, it's probably time. Still, he still has something left in the tank after all these years. It's normal to not want to acknowledge you're aging.

bailey should shift from corer to retirement . If bailey shifts to safety and still gets burned bailey should retire before he gets released

He has been playing safety. Only corner living on an over-rated reputation. He as been giving 11-13 yard cushion at corner fr years. Chump needs to move to retirement

Must be a Raider Fan. Even if he did play with a cushion he still took away your best reciever and half of the field. Quarterbacks have averaged 35 pass attempts and 7 completetions a SEASON on him. No one was talking about a complete shut-down corner until Bailey. Now everyone gets the title and I still see them getting burnt and they can't tackle. I know it's easy to talk trash cause he's damn near 40 yrs old. Bet he still makes the pro-bowl this year. GO BRONCOS!!!
